So I had to go back down to my hometown [Largo, FL], so I took the opportunity to explore more of St. Petersburg w/ a couple of my buddies, Funk Xero and Joenomics.

St. Petersburg is radically changing. I was surprised at the amount of development going on there. It seems like they are trying really promote the downtown living there. Baywalk is no longer a hangout for crazy gangsta kid and teenie boppers. Now, it’s more like they’ve been invaded by emo kids. LOL.

We walked thru a good portion of downtown and found a couple cool things. There’s this poet/artist that walks thru downtown chalking poems and hearts random places he goes. Wish I coulda met the guy, but maybe next time. We walked all the way down to the Vinoy Hotel. If you don’t know what the Vinoy is, it’s an old hotel that has become a sorta landmark in St. Pete. It’s kinda hard to miss a giant PINK building in the skyline. =)

The best part of that day tho, was the gelato that I had at this shop called Pacuigo across the Art Museum. I think what I got was called, “Coppa Mandorla.” It was this vanilla gelato with chips of Amaretto chocolate [AMAZING! WHO WOULDA THOUGHT TO MAKE THAT!?]. Below it was a layer of melted Amaretto chocolate and on top was whipped cream and peanuts. This was stuff to DIE for~~ If you like chocolate, this would be heaven for you, altho it’s a bit rich for some people. It was a bit expensive (gelato usually is…) but it was worth every penny! XD

After walkin around, we spent the rest of the night chilling at this “swanky” coffee lounge nearby called Globe Coffee Lounge. It had this kinda urban outfitters/anthropologie theme to it and it was definitely a cool place to hang out. I sorta wish there was a place like that to hang out in Orlando that had the same feeling. It had lotsa cool artwork and a small menu that had some really tasty stuff (it smelled good at least). Krystle, I think you woulda liked this place~
